Our methods

We aim for three products during our project:

  • IO1: Resource guide for trainers
  • IO2: Methodological guide for adult trainers
  • IO3: Methodological Guide for adult training providers and employers

IO1 – Resource guide for trainers

The aim of IO1 is to provide an up-to-date inventory of typical work situations that take place in the Tourism sector with focus on the first six months of the employee’s carrier. It will serve as a source of knowledge for other products in the project. We aim to contribute to aligning adult training to real working landscape in the sector – leading to increased motivation, educational attainments and employability. It contains serveral tasks.

  1. Provide a methodology for conducting a focus group in each country, involving representatives of the Tourism industry and adult trainers.
  2. Select and invite relevant participants for the focus group.
  3. Consolidate information from focus groups and carry out an additional desk  research.
  4. Draft a sample structure of the guide and the main content.
  5. Consolidate the final version of the guide.
  6. Piloting – adult trainers and adult learners.
  7. Translate the guide in partner languages and publish final versions.

Each Enterprised partner will select and invite relevant participants for the focus group. The initial plan is to organise a focus group with min. 12 participants (6 representatives of the tourism industry and 6 from adult education).

Each partner will convey two focus group meetings in this initial phase of IO1 development work. The minutes from the focus group meetings in each partner country will be sent to BEST/Austria for consolidation.

The Guide will be available for download from project’s website. In addition, partners will provide direct links to the guide from their websites, as well.

  2. Develop the draft content, following the commonly agreed structure.
  3. Provide a methodology for conducting a focus group in each country.
  4. Select and invite relevant participants for the  focus group.
  5. Consolidate information from focus groups.
  6. Consolidate the final version  of the guide.
  7. Piloting – adult trainers and adult learners.
  8. Translate the guide in  partner languages and publish final versions.

The Guide will be available for download from project’s website. In addition, partners will provide direct links to the guide from their websites, as well.
